A Rosehill bingo player was left speechless after winning an amazing £50,000 at Mecca Bingo on Thursday 27th November.
The lucky winner scooped the jackpot playing the National Bingo Game. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is known to be a regular visitor to the club on Bishopsford Road and has been a member for several years.
The winner was playing bingo with friends on one of Mecca’s Max electronic tablets when she claimed for a full house. The venue erupted into applause as it became clear she had completed her full house within the first 16 calls, triggering the huge £50,000 jackpot.
Mecca Rosehill general manager, Wayne Crittenden commented; “It was an amazing evening. We were all completely stunned – it’s the biggest win in our venue for a while. The caller, Jess, has been with us for over a decade but had never given away a jackpot that large before. The winner couldn’t believe it when the realisation dawned that she had called Full House quickly enough to win the £50k. It took a moment for it to sink in, but the whole club celebrated together as a community – clapping and cheering. The atmosphere was brilliant and we even fired off a confetti cannon for her to mark the occasion!”
