CHRISTMAS MAGIC RETURNS TO FLEET STREET QUARTER THIS YEAR

0

Fleet Street Quarter will officially kick off the festive season on Wednesday 19th November, when Ludgate Circus is illuminated during a special switch-on event.

This year introduces a brand-new Snoopy Sculpture Trail, created in partnership with Wild in Art and Peanuts™, bringing a collection of artist-designed Snoopy installations to the historic streets of Fleet Street Quarter for the first time. Participating artists include social media sensation Becky Smith and award-winning children’s author Fran Preston-Gannon, who have each created an individual artistic interpretation of Snoopy on his famous doghouse, and the trail will be accompanied by a bespoke audio trail narrated by comedian, children’s author and illustrator Olaf Falafel.

The trail celebrates the 75th anniversary of Peanuts™ and the district’s rich storytelling heritage, as the historic heart of Britain’s newspaper industry, with the cartoon favourite returning to the very streets where it was once printed for decades before.

A full calendar of free and low-cost events will run through November and December across the Quarter, bringing seasonal cheer and an array of exciting activities – offering everyone a chance to revel in the most wonderful time of the year in the heart of the City. The programming includes the debut of Adrian Dunbar: T.S. Eliot’s The Waste Land at the historic, rarely-accessible Middle Temple Hall on Tuesday 18th November.
