Two E-ACT City Heights Academy students are celebrating after being offered sought-after sixth form places at one of London’s most prestigious independent schools, James Allen’s Girls’ School (JAGS) in Dulwich— marking an exciting step forward in the growing partnership between the two schools.

Following a highly competitive selection process—including three interviews, written and logic tests—Year 11 students Julia Casoti and Blanca Szczyszek impressed JAGS leaders with their academic excellence, ambition, and thoughtful responses to challenging questions, such as how they would address major national issues if they were Prime Minister for a day.

Blanca, who hopes to pursue a career in medicine, plans to study Psychology, Chemistry and Biology, while Julia, with aspirations in astrophysics, has been offered a place to study Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Both students have high academic ambitions, aiming for top universities, including Cambridge.
Sharing her thoughts on the application process, Blanca said:

“The experience of applying to JAGS was intense but really rewarding. The support from my teachers and the encouragement from JAGS students made a huge difference, and I’m really excited about this next chapter.”

The students’ success is the latest example of the strengthening relationship between City Heights and JAGS, a collaboration that builds on City Heights’ well-established partnership with Dulwich College. As part of the process, JAGS welcomed City Heights students for tours and mentoring, with current JAGS students offering guidance and support.

Julia added:
“Visiting JAGS and seeing the opportunities available made me even more determined to apply. The small classes, amazing facilities, and welcoming atmosphere really stood out to me.”

City Heights Academy Headteacher, Marvin Charles, said:
“We are incredibly proud of Julia and Blanca for receiving offers at such a prestigious institution. Their achievement is a testament to their talent, determination, and the strong support network at City Heights. City Heights’ growing relationship with JAGS reflects our commitment to broadening opportunities for our students, and we look forward to developing this partnership further.”

City Heights Academy will continue to expand its links with JAGS and other leading institutions, ensuring students have access to the best possible opportunities to achieve their full potential.
