Last night, The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City of London hosted high-profile guests including the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, BBC journalist and broadcaster Mishal Husain, Sheikha Alanoud Al-Thani, HRH Princess Badiya of Jordan and HE Hakim Hajoui, Ambassador of Morocco at a magnificent Eid-Al-Fitr dinner at the City Guildhall.
Raising funds for The Lord Mayor’s Appeal, the prestigious event marked the end of Ramadan and was created to celebrate the long and deep relationship between the City of London and the Muslim world.
Aiming to explore opportunities for greater economic cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Muslim business world, the mocktail drinks reception and three-course dinner included a silent auction and live performances. One performer was HE Desra Percaya, Ambassador of Indonesia who treated the crowd to a saxophone rendition.
Other VIP guests included MC, journalist and broadcaster Ru A Kermani, HE Hakim Hajoui, Ambassador of Morocco, HE Abida Islam, High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Mohiuddin Ghazali, Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia and Rt Hon Graham Stuart MP.
