The perfect pairing for summer, the City of London Distillery has teamed with Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge to transform its Fifth Floor Terrace in a takeover which honours London’s rich gin history, from now to Sunday 8th September.
The transformation offers London natives and visitors alike the ability to drop in and enjoy some of the city’s finest gin cocktails any time – from a Grapefruit Gimlet featuring City of London Distillery Authentic Dry Gin, to a Rhubarb 75 made with City of London Distillery Rhubarb & Rose Gin – alongside an exclusive ticket-only experience created for summer 2019.
Make Your Own Gin experiences will be on sale and hosted by the City of London Distillery – the very first distillery to open in London’s Square Mile for almost 200 years – and its resident gin expert Joe Brayford. You’ll be introduced to the history of gin – from the gin craze of the 1700s to the present-day gin revival – and learn about the part the City of London Distillery has played in bringing back London’s gin heritage.
The distillery’s expert team will then guide you through the essential botanicals used in gin, before you use your new-found knowledge to design recipe and make your own personal gin to take home.
Those lucky enough to secure one of just 24 tickets available for the Make Your Own Gin experience can also savour some of season’s finest produce as part of a delicious three course menu prepared by Harvey Nichols chefs – all served overlooking the Knightsbridge rooftops.
Tickets for the Make Your Own Gin experience and three course meal can be booked via the City of London Distillery for £100 per person. Sessions will take place on Thursday 15th and Thursday 29th August 2019, with each Make Your Own Gin session lasting two hours, followed by a leisurely dinner.
Whether you’re dropping in for a cocktail, or one of the lucky few to get a ticket for the full experience, all drinks will be expertly prepared using expressions from the City of London Distillery gin range including City of London Distillery Authentic Dry Gin, City of London Distillery Six Bells Lemon Gin, City of London Distillery Murcian Orange Gin, City of London Distillery Rhubarb & Rose Gin.
Don’t worry if you don’t beat the queue for tickets; gin lovers can enjoy dedicated masterclasses year-round at the City of London Distillery itself – visit City of London Distillery to find out more.
