KAPOW! London is set to play host to a supercharged Superheroes pop-up cocktail-making experience where the every person can become a crime-fighting, cocktail-making crusader. Open from Thursday 1st July and with tickets now on sale, this brand new immersive experience brings comics to life with science and technology, and is a must-visit for comic book lovers, superhero super-fans and anyone who doesn’t want to grow up just yet!
Donning a mask and cape on arrival, ordinary mortals will be taken on a fantasy-inspired interactive journey through the Golden Age of superheroes, superpowers and comics. Guests will enter the black and white 2D space where the interior is designed like the hand-sketched world on the page of a retro comic book to land in Superheroes HQ.
Each new superhero-in-training begins by testing their burgeoning superpowers by pouring a welcome drink by superpose (contactless, of course). Different superposes pour different drinks. As the journey begins, each person will create two interactive cocktails at their workstation, which are inspired by molecular mixology and the real superpowers of forgotten, Golden Age Superheroes in the Public Domain. Drink-making instructions are in comic book form and special effects from fire and smoke to UV coming into play. All cocktails are available with and without alcohol and are gluten free and vegan.
If you fancy a little more game time after your superhero immersion, the venue also features a walk-in ‘Supervillain Hideout Bar,’ which is a colourful, experimental molecular cocktail and craft beer bar where superpowers rule — crystal-activated self-drink-pouring, flaming cocktails, and gaming systems galore. This gaming bar is every self-confessed geek’s dream, and can be rented privately as an event space, or enjoyed before or after your Superheroes Experience for additional drinks.
Superheroes pop-up bar, is brought to you by the makers of The Cauldron, London’s much-loved wizard-inspired cocktail experience. It’s founders, Matthew Cortland and David Duckworth, and their team of “magicineers” designed Superheroes Bar to surprise, delight, and strike at the heart of the comic fandom in London. Leading cocktail creation and experimentation, Duckworth comments: “The menu at Superheroes pop-up bar is the product of a team of expert mixologists and comic book geeks, coming together to create an experience that will excite and astound fans of graphic novels and superheroes”. With Cortland bringing his fascination and knowledge of science and technology, to create a one-of-a-kind interactive experience, he added: “Just as we have created an immersive magical experience at The Cauldron, our in-house ‘magicineering’ studio has brought the history of the comic book multiverse to life through interactive technology and science. As a result, there will be plenty of plot-twists for guests to enjoy.”
Superheroes pop-up bar puts the safety of its customers first and has stringent COVID safe measures in place. As part of this, it’s a seated experience apart from your superhero pose pouring cocktail and all whole experience is timed and socially distanced across a 4,000 sq ft space. You also get to keep the mask you’re given on arrive but return the cape to be fully cleaned and laundered ahead of its next use.
