Connaught Village is excited to announce the launch of Village in Green, a vibrant celebration of urban nature featuring a variety of gardening, botanical, and outdoor activities and experiences for all to enjoy.
Nestled just above Hyde Park, Connaught Village is an undiscovered gem in the heart of London. On 7 June, coinciding with the garden openings for The National Garden Scheme, visitors will be spoilt for choice with a variety of activities and experiences throughout the village. Oxford Square, usually a private garden, will be opened to the public, inviting visitors to bring down a picnic rug and enjoy the live music and entertainment from 11am – 3pm. An incredible programme of free garden and botanical inspired talks and workshops will take place including a talk from renowned broadcaster and author, James Wong.
Visitors are invited to explore a selection of enchanting private gardens, typically closed to the public, but are open to the public for a small donation contribution to The National Garden Scheme. This rare opportunity offers a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle, with access to historic green spaces and picturesque streets across Gloucester Square, Coniston Court, Devonport, the Water Gardens, and the Quadrangle. Event Programme – 7 June
11am: The Great Indoors with James Wong – Guests are invited to a fascinating discussion with broadcaster, botanist and best-selling author, James Wong, focusing in on how to re-think houseplants, create indoor habitats and unleash creativity in the process. Tickets are free and can be booked here
12pm: A ‘Plant-To-Plate’ workshop – featuring personal chef turned recipe developer and content creator, Natalia Rudin (@natsnourishments) and Cameron Macfie of The Conscious Gardening Co. will deliver a Plant to Plate talk showing the importance of diversity in the garden and in the diet. Natalia will also prepare one of her famous dishes as part of the talk. Tickets are free and can be booked here
2pm: Herb garden potting with Martha Swales – Learn to make a seasonal herb garden with author and ‘flower farmer, Martha Swales (@marfskitchengarden). Martha will take you through all the steps, sharing her tips and tricks on creating the best herb potting to take home and enjoy. Tickets are £10 and can be booked in advance here

With the support of the Garden Committee, Gloucester Square, the second largest garden in the Hyde Park Estate, is also set to come alive with music and entertainment. Visitors can enter with a small donation to The National Garden Scheme. Nestled amidst an eclectic blend of original Italianate white stucco townhouses and modernist architectural developments from the 20th century, this picturesque location invites visitors to a delightful open day.
