CRISTIANO Ronaldo can play for at least two more years, the former Real Madrid president says.
Ramon Calderon said the Portuguese icon was the “perfect signing” and would prove to be a brilliant player for new Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
In an exclusive interview with GB News, Mr Calderon told Camilla Tominey Today: “He’s proved to be worth the money. He won everything with us, and many personal awards and collective awards.
“Look, what has happened after he joined us, some clubs have paid 200 million euros. And now 90 million is what any player [is worth], so for us it was a perfect signing.”
Discussing the player’s latest move to Al-Nassr, which some have speculated could be the last club the goal scoring forward plays at, Calderon continued: “I would like him to play two or three more years in the top leagues, I think he’s still fit and in good shape.
“He’s been a player that takes care of himself and has done very well for all his career. But I suppose he’s thought that this is a good option [to end his career at].
“So, I wish him the best, as to all the players that are playing and have played with us.”
When asked whether Christiano Ronald could be considered the ‘Greatest Player of All Time’ against Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi, Ramin laughed: “I think both! Both are different players, but I like both.
“I think we’ve been lucky to have people who love football, and we’ve been lucky to have those players playing at the same time, in a different team.
“So, it’s been for them and for the club they play for, it’s been fantastic. They are both amazing players, and let’s hope that many like them can come afterwards.”
Ronaldo’s salary has broken records as the highest football salary in history, and includes an annual guaranteed football salary of €90 million alongside commercial and sponsorship deals to equate to a €200 million package. The striker was also reportedly paid a signing-on bonus in the region of €100 million.
