The Gherkin, the Barbican, the Big Ben… These are famous buildings that are instantly recognisable from the outside.
But the photos tourists are used to see hide the true complexity of these fabulous structures.
Most people don’t get a chance to see behind the scenes, so we decided to open up seven of London’s top landmarks with a series of cross-sections showing just what’s going on beneath their famous fronts.
