On Saturday 23 March 2024, Peter Brooks from Fulham and four friends took off on a challenge to cycle 90km around all the Premier League Football Clubs in London to raise funds for CW+, the charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and The UK Sepsis Trust.
Peter’s inspiration stems from his daughter, Sofia, who fought against invasive Group A Strep early last year. Thanks to the exceptional care she received at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Sofia made a full recovery.
*Every 3 seconds, someone in the world dies of sepsis. In the UK alone, 245,000 people are affected by sepsis with at least 48,000 people losing their lives in sepsis-related illnesses every year. The cycle challenge directly supports Sofia’s story fundraising campaign. These funds are crucial in supporting the hospital and to raise awareness for invasive group A Strep, stop preventable deaths and support families affected by sepsis.
Peter and his friends started at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital going south towards Crystal Palace (Selhurst Park), up East to West Ham(London Stadium), Tottenham Hotspur (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium) and Arsenal (Emirates Stadium) before ending West visiting Brentford (Gtech Community Stadium), Fulham (Craven Cottage) and Chelsea (Stamford Bridge).
