On 1 November 2025, festive lights are set to sparkle over Piccadilly, Leicester Square, and St Martin’s Lane, delivered by London West End and Heart of London Business Alliance.
Dazzling until 6 January, it provides the perfect backdrop for a Christmas selfie as millions visit London’s cultural district for a show, a delicious meal, or a winter tipple. On Piccadilly, lights inspired by the iconic Anteros statue will reflect the area’s heritage and elegance. Leicester Square will sparkle with star-shaped lights celebrating the stars of film and entertainment who have made the area famous, while St Martin’s Lane will twinkle in tribute to Theatreland.
Whether for a date or a family outing, visitors seeking activities can discover Skate Leicester Square, a brand-new outdoor ice rink in the heart of the city, with local businesses offering 15% off skating sessions for customers, alongside a wintery pop-up market with warming food, drinks, and seasonal gifts.
The lights also mark the start of festivity across London’s legendary theatre district. Productions include family favourites like Nutcracker at the London Coliseum, glittering comedy The Importance of Being Earnest at the Noël Coward Theatre, and Sheridan Smith starring in Woman in Mind from 9 December at the Duke of York Theatre.
Shoppers will be spoilt for choice – from seasonal gifts at Burlington Arcade and Fortnum & Mason, to dining experiences in world-class restaurants, as well as bars, and even overnight romantic stays in luxury hotels.
As part of the celebrations, West End visitors can join a Tasting Tour along St Martin’s Lane on 4 November, enjoying seasonal bites and holiday drinks from local venues, with full details available on the Art of London website.
Kirsty Tullett-Jones, Director of Marketing & Communications, Heart of London Business Alliance, said: “We’re excited to once again sprinkle some extra sparkle in the West End and welcome visitors to enjoy the spectacle of our festive lights. Come and see the stunning light displays, soak up the atmosphere at one of the area’s world-class restaurants and bars, and treat your loved ones (and perhaps yourself too!) to a special gift from one of the area’s unique stores and boutiques.”
Culture lovers can discover a range of seasonal itineraries in the heart of the capital on the Art of London website and on socials @theartofldn and @discoverlsq.
