Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Windsor Kindergarten & Adventure Kids After School Club, in Twickenham, South West London.
Established in 1988, this Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ children’s day nursery and after-school club caters for up to 38 children aged 18 months to five years at the nursery, and up to 12 years at the club. This unique setting has a prime location in the centre of Twickenham, a stone’s throw from the river and high street making it an integral part of the local community.
The setting has been owned by Sangeeta and Stephen Gardiner since 1994, who wanted to create a home-from-home, nurturing environment that promoted active and enthusiastic learning amongst children. They recently decided to sell to retire from the sector.
Following a confidential sales process with Sophie Willcox at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Harbir Randeva, who previously owned two nurseries and has chosen to re-enter the sector.
Stephen and Sangeeta Gardiner, former owners of Windsor Kindergarten, comment, “Having developed the nursery over the last 30 years, we wanted to ensure that whoever took over the setting would continue with our ethos of serving the local community. This includes providing the children with the very best environment for them to grow and develop both socially and educationally. Sophie was instrumental in supporting us throughout the marketing of the nursery and ultimately finding Harbir who we know will sustain our ethos enabling the nursery and staff team to continue to develop.”
Harbir Randeva, new owner of Windsor Kindergarten, comments, “After previously selling my two nurseries, I knew for me to re-enter it would have to be for a unique and special opportunity. As soon as I visited Windsor Kindergarten, I knew it was the one! I am excited to carry on Stephen and Sangeeta’s legacy.”
Sophie Willcox, Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, comments, “Windsor Kindergarten is a wonderful leasehold nursery in the centre of Twickenham. I knew that Sangeeta and Stephen wanted to find a buyer who would cherish their business and allow it to flourish. Having worked with Harbir previously, I knew they would be the perfect fit. I wish them all the best with the business moving forward and to my clients in their retirement.”
“We had an exceptionally busy January with several freehold, group and leasehold sales, highlighting that there is an appetite for all types of assets.”
Windsor Kindergarten was sold for an undisclosed price.
