A leading decorating and DIY specialist is continuing its growth across London as it prepares to open a new store in Bayswater.
Leyland SDM will open its eighth new store of 2021 – and its 32nd store in total – when it cuts the ribbon on its newest premises on Monday, December 6.
The Bayswater store will be found at 96 Bishop’s Bridge Road, London W2 5AA.
It concludes a huge year of growth for Leyland SDM as the DIY and home improvement boom ignited by the pandemic shows no sign of slowing.
The new store will provide a welcome jobs boost to the local economy and follows the opening of new stores in Acton, Tooting, Cricklewood, Fulham North, Greenford, Clapham Junction and Dulwich already this year.
Customers will be given a special 10 per cent discount off all purchases during the opening week of trading.
Jonathan Jennings, Chief Executive of Leyland SDM, said: “2021 has been a milestone year for Leyland SDM. We have successfully grown our business by a third, with Bayswater completing our year of expansion, which has seen us grow from 24 stores to 32.
“There has been a huge uplift in the number of people carrying out home improvements, both people doing the work themselves and engaging trade professionals for larger jobs.
“Bayswater is an area we have been targeting for some time. Our store is in an excellent location on a busy road, which will be ideal for both trade professionals requiring materials and people carrying out DIY jobs on their homes.
“Everyone visiting can benefit from the expert DIY knowledge of our colleagues and first-class service, including home delivery if required.”
As well as the week-long discount across all products, there will be giveaways and special Christmas-themed events on the opening day.
The Bayswater store will create new local jobs, forming part of a wider recruitment campaign with numerous vacancies currently available across all London stores.
Cliff Rendell, HR Director for Leyland SDM, said: “The growth of Leyland SDM has provided dozens of new jobs across London at all levels of seniority.
“As a business we are committed to providing genuine career opportunities with potential for upskilling and personal growth.”
The Bayswater store will stock a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment, ironmongery and much more, all under one roof.
Leyland SDM has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY companies in central London with stores in prominent locations across the city.
Some of the biggest and best-known DIY brands are available at Leyland SDM, including Farrow & Ball, Tesa, Bahco, Bosch, Purdy, Dulux Trade, Leyland Trade, Stanley, Ronseal and DEWALT.
