SHOPPERS visiting West London’s Livat Centre were invited into their opticians to celebrate the recent store re-brand and facelift. Visitors were delighted to wander around the new-look store and try on the latest designer brands, including the recently launched Barbour range.
Specsavers Hammersmith, which has been providing optical and hearing care to residents, businesses and commuters for the last 26 years, recently underwent a transformation, with the updated, stylised new frame displays, in-store lighting and wall mounts and enhanced floor space providing a more streamlined customer experience.
To mark this significant investment into the business and in celebration of 26 years in Hammersmith, the Deputy Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham, Councillor Daryl Brown was invited to officially re-launch the new-look store to the local community.
A customer of Specsavers Hammersmith, Councillor Brown was given a store tour, by directors, Nilma Malde and Priyanka Matrubai, both optometrists, who introduced her to the store team and guests; Sarah Malcolm from BID Hammersmith, representatives from Optegra and Alcon, plus members of the Specsavers Greater London team, including Eileen Moriarty and Lottie Gregory.
Also, in attendance to support the re-launch was an Ambassador from the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity, Louise Halvey, and her cocker spaniel hearing dog, Flora. The charity trains puppies to alert people who are deaf, to important daily and life-saving sounds that they might otherwise miss, such as a doorbell, alarm clock and even danger signals such as a fire alarm. The charity also helps deaf people to reconnect with life and leave loneliness behind, as life without sound can be very isolating.
Both directors, are delighted with the makeover including the upgraded audiology centre, which offers a range of hearing tests and hearing aids. Ms Malde says: ‘Our recent store refit means that we can offer customers a more streamlined store experience. We have an extensive array of frames from the £15 value styles to high-end designer glasses for our fashion-conscious shoppers, including Vivienne Westward, Liberty London, Marc Jacobs and many more.
‘Our latest diagnostic testing equipment provides customers with the opportunity to access hospital-grade equipment here in store, trial contact lenses and have access to audiology services such as hearing tests and wax removal. We are really looking forward to welcoming our customers into our new-look practice.’
Specsavers Hammersmith offers customers access to state-of-the-art pre-room testing diagnostic equipment, including a visual fields analyser and OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) examination. The OCT, which is advanced diagnostic, eye-scanning equipment, helps detect serious eye conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, up to four years earlier than traditional methods, and is currently on offer at the reduced price of just £5.
The added benefit of the scan is that each customer’s OCT images can be stored, with any changes being observed over time – a real benefit to the monitoring of someone’s overall eye health.
The dedicated audiology centre offers a soundproof booth for customers to have their hearing tested, coupled with the latest micro-suction equipment for wax removal.
In addition, there are seven consulting rooms, dedicated diagnostic testing areas and specific contact lens stations offering enhanced facilities to customers. The store runs daily sight tests, contact lens and hearing clinics.
Ms Matrubai says: ‘Hammersmith is a melting pot of residents, independent businesses, commuters and shoppers. As a store we have something for everyone, be that a lunchtime check-up for the busy office worker, contact lens trials and support, weekend appointments for visitors to IKEA, and our other high street retailers.
‘We have a great team who are professional and committed to delivering the best service and care to our customers across the community. So, we very much look forward to supporting everyone’s differing needs.’
