DLD College London has been presented with the Independent School’s Association (ISA) Award for ‘Excellence and Innovation in Mental Health and Wellbeing’, another national accolade to bolster the school’s impressive trophy cabinet.
The ISA Awards is a highly-anticipated event each year that celebrates success in its members’ schools while recognising the breadth and quality of provision in independent education across the country. The Westminster Bridge-based day and boarding school has been celebrated for its pioneering pastoral systems, and proactive approach to welfare and mental health.
In further recognition, the multi-award-winning school was also announced as a finalist in an additional two categories, the ISA Award for ‘Excellence and Innovation in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion’ and the ISA Award for ‘Excellence in Pupil Personal Development.’
Commenting on the award win, DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif said, “We are thrilled to be announced as winners of this prestigious award and as finalists in two other categories, a testament to the great work being undertaken to support our students, and the importance that we place on their wellbeing and development. Developing the character of our students; furnishing them with the characteristics required for a successful adult life, making them aware of intolerance, instilling strong values, and creating an awareness of self-care with the importance of mental health and wellbeing are all important aspects of a DLD education.”
The much-coveted award is yet another addition to a number of high-profile accolades presented to the school. Over the last year, DLD College London has been announced as winners of the ‘Independent Schools of the Year, Special Judges’ Award’ and ‘Independent Boarding School of the Year’, Independent Schools’ Association (ISA) Award for ‘Innovation in Pupil Voice’ 2020 and Boarding Schools’ Association (BSA) Award for Wellbeing and Mental Health Initiative. The school is also proud to be named by Tatler magazine, Good Schools Guide and Talk Education as one of the top schools in the UK.
DLD College London is the only independent school in the heart of London with on-site boarding. It is housed in highly contemporary, purpose-built premises on 199 Westminster Bridge Road, overlooking the Palace of Westminster and the River Thames. The school offers students aged 14 to 19 the opportunity to study a wide range of GCSEs, A-Levels, BTEC courses and International Foundation Programmes (IFP). It also offers an Academic Preparation Programme (APC).
As part of the prestigious Alpha Plus Group of schools, DLD College London provides a ‘gold standard’ of educational quality. Classes are small, enabling students and teachers to focus upon the most effective learning methods and provide them with the highest levels of pastoral care both in school and in boarding. The school’s beating heart is its award-winning wellbeing centre.
