DLD College London, the multi-award winning independent school is celebrating its students’ excellent results in the latest round of IELTS exams.
Students from the Academic English Department in Years 12 to 14, all with varying levels of English, sat their first external and official exam of the academic year at DLD College London, a British Council-approved IELTS exam centre since 2018. The candidates broke barriers and showed resilience, adapting to the new format of the exam, an English Language qualification required for entry to university, which moved away from the traditional paper model to a modern, computer-based test.
Given the format change – a sense of trepidation spread amongst the students initially, which was swiftly squandered as entrants exceeded expectations and delivered an excellent set of results. In a triumphant moment for the college, over half of the student cohort achieved a coveted Band 5.0 and above, with several reaching Band 5.5 and 6.0, reflecting their commitment to mastering all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Christalla Mavroudis, Head of Academic English at DLD College London commented: “Through hard work, dedication and expert guidance, many of our learners have met their target scores four months in advance, paving the way for their academic aspirations. With these outstanding results, our students are now preparing for their next milestones – whether that is Year 11, 12 or the International Foundation Programme, their IELTS success has unlocked new exciting pathways.”
DLD College London now looks to the future to maintain its renowned reputation of students achieving consistent, stellar results.
The college is hosting an Open Morning on Thursday 3 April, 10am – 12pm. Those interested can register their interest at: https://www.dldcollege.co.uk/admissions/uk-admissions/open-evenings/
