Ealing Broadway is running two heartwarming initiatives to support local residents this festive season, partnering with Calling London and Home-Start Ealing to bring warmth and joy to those who need it most.
From supporting vulnerable residents through its Winter Coat Donation campaign to supporting local families via its Christmas Giving Tree, Ealing Broadway is inviting visitors to get involved and help make a difference throughout the festive period.
Warming hearts with the Winter Coat Donation
As this year’s Winter Coat Donation comes to a close, Ealing Broadway has collected over 500 coats for vulnerable residents across London.
Building on the success of previous years, the campaign once again encouraged visitors to donate clean, good-quality coats to support those facing hardship during the colder months.
In partnership with Calling London, the centre collected coats of all sizes – from babies to adults – including wool coats, ski jackets, down coats and duffle coats.
No donation is ever sold – every coat will now be redistributed directly to someone in London who needs it this winter.
Spreading joy through the Giving Tree
Available until Tuesday 9th December, the Giving Tree gives visitors the chance to make Christmas wishes come true for local families. The initiative is run in partnership with Home-Start Ealing, which provides practical and emotional support to families with young children across the borough.
Located inside Jamaica Blue, visitors can pick a tag from the tree, purchase a gift to match the wish, and return it unwrapped to the donation box beside the tree.
Home-Start Ealing will then collect and distribute the gifts at its annual Christmas party, helping ease pressure on local families and bring joy to children across the borough.
Andrew Rollings, Centre Director at Ealing Broadway, said: “Christmas is all about supporting those who need it most, so we’re really proud to be partnering with calling London and Home Start Ealing on these meaningful initiatives that make a real difference to local residents.
“Whether it’s donating a warm coat or buying a gift for a family in need, these small acts of kindness can bring warmth and joy to people across our community this winter. It’s really easy to get involved and only takes a few minutes out of your day as part of a festive trip to the centre.
“We hope our visitors will join us in celebrating the season and share in the spirit of giving back.”
