East London’s Museum of the Home to help put youth homelessness to bed

Every year, hundreds of thousands of young people find themselves facing homelessness through no fault of their own, often lacking the support and opportunities they need to define their own futures. EveryYouth, the national charity for 16-25 year olds facing homelessness, believe that with this support, young people have the chance to live bright and successful lives on their own terms.

Sleep Out is the charity’s annual public fundraising event that challenges people from all walks of life to give up their beds to sleep outside while raising vital funds and awareness that will allow EveryYouth to continue supporting some of the most marginalised young people in the UK.

This November, you can help put youth homelessness to bed.

When: Thursday, November 7th
Where: Museum of the Home, East London E2 8EA

David Pugh, EveryYouth Trustee, says: “Sleep Out is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the fight against homelessness. By signing up, you not only show solidarity with young people facing homelessness, but also help to raise crucial funds that support essential services and programs.

Last year, participating in the Sleep Out was an eye-opening experience. Sleeping outside, exposed to the elements and the discomfort of the hard ground, gave me a glimpse into the harsh realities that homeless individuals endure daily. The following day, I felt physically exhausted and mentally drained, which underscored just how difficult it must be to function without the stability and security of a home.

This experience fuelled my determination to contribute more actively to efforts aimed at combating homelessness. If you want to show your support for vulnerable young people then Sleep Out is a fantastic opportunity to do so.”
