After the last year, there has never been a better time to reconnect with friends or appreciate the joy and hope that outdoor spaces can bring at Spring.
In celebration of Garden Day, Southwark based charity – The Bridge – will hold combined open air floral crown and Yoga sessions on Sunday 9th May 2021. The events will take place in the beautiful gardens of St George the Martyr Church; a stunning
location around the corner from The Bridge’s base in Southwark.
The Bridge has been supporting health and wellbeing within the local community since 1932. Its mission is to reduce health inequalities, whilst supporting those from all walks of life. After a year of restrictions, Garden Day offered the perfect opportunity to host a series of wellness activities outdoors.
A report by The King’s Fund summarised the link between ‘green spaces’ and health
(Buck and Gregory 2013). There is strong evidence of association, linking access to,
living nearby or being exposed to green space with a wide array of indicators of
physical and mental health and for many population groups.*
Who says floral crowns and open-air yoga are just for festivals?
Sunday 9th May 2021
Floral Crown Making and Open Air Yoga – £5 per person During a 30-minute masterclass, visitors will be taught how to make a beautiful floral crown with a selection of stunning

Visitors can then attend a 30-minute open-air yoga session with The Bridge’s in house teacher – Laura Trosh. Laura’s classes are accessible and inclusive for all, including
beginners.
The sessions will be held outside in a socially distanced manner. Numbers are restricted
