Specsavers Enfield has invested £250,000 in a comprehensive store refit, upgrading the clinical and retail environment to enhance the customer experience.
The refit includes a complete interior upgrade, featuring new LED lighting throughout, illuminated LED frame displays to better showcase the full range of eyewear, and a purpose-built field test room designed to enhance the patient experience while supporting the highest clinical standards.
To mark the re-opening, the team gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and team celebration, with the Palace Gardens Shopping Centre manager, Preston Gaddy, officially cutting the ribbon on the new store.
During the event, store director Mark Anderson and ophthalmic director Roshan Mukhey presented a gift to optical assistant Henrique Reis Jalo, who received the highest number of positive mentions in recent customer reviews in recognition of his outstanding contribution to patient care.
Mark and Roshan lead an experienced team at Specsavers Enfield, with a combined 178 years of service.
Mark says: ‘It’s hard to believe the store is coming up to its 30th birthday, having opened all the way back in July 1996.
‘The vast majority of our 178 years’ combined service is drawn from the community too. We’ve always be keen to offer local people roles where possible and lots of them have gone on to develop into bigger roles as we’ve grown.
‘This refurbishment allows us to better meet the growing eye and hearing care needs of our community. Alongside the upgraded store design, the new purpose-built field test room enables more detailed assessments of peripheral and central vision, supporting the early detection of conditions such as glaucoma.’
Since the store opened, the team has trained hundreds of people, some of whom have gone on to become fully qualified opticians and store partners with Specsavers.
