Christmas is just around the corner and Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice has everything you need to guarantee a fun-filled Christmas for all the family.

The past two years have posed an unprecedented challenge to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice. The local charity which provides care and support to people in the two boroughs who have a terminal illness – like many other charities, found opportunities to fundraise, were severely impacted by lockdowns and uncertainty which meant that the Hospice’s fundraising team had to respond quickly to make sure they were able to continue to raise vital funds.

Megan Boyle, Head of Fundraising said: “Last year, Christmas was not the one we wanted or one many of us would have chosen, but we’re so proud that even throughout the pandemic we were able to continue to run a number of our events and keep in touch with supporters.

“We rely on the success of our fundraising events throughout the year, to make hospice care possible. The demand for our care only grew during the pandemic and since, meaning support from our community has never been more important.

“We were overwhelmed and so incredibly grateful for all the support shown during the most difficult of times, and we are delighted to be returning to face to face events to be able to say in person, ‘thank you for being there for us’. It makes it that much more special.”

As well as looking forward to returning to a full schedule of events, Megan adds: “We’re really excited to see members of our community coming together once again to have fun, make memories and make the most of our festive programme, and at the same time, make it possible for our teams to be there when people need them most. It really is such a special time of the year.”
