Businesses thinking of entering Southwark’s premier enterprise awards in 2019 are being urged to take the plunge by the inaugural year winners.
Southwark Business Excellence Awards in association with London South Bank University feature 14 free-to-apply categories to suit every business type, size and sector across the massive south London borough.
Dozens have already registered to enter at www.southwarkawards.co.uk with many entering for the second year running, citing the benefits their businesses have enjoyed from Southwark’s biggest awards programme.
For Danny Brooks, CEO of VHR, who won Entrepreneur of the Year and the Best Employer category in 2018, applying again is an easy decision. He said: “Southwark’s new awards are fantastic for our borough and for the city of London. They are a brilliant way to raise your business profile locally and internationally, and they recognise a variety of business and individual achievements. It’s all about celebrating the wealth of talent that Southwark has to offer.”
Jen Ferguson, Director, of Hop Burns & Black, which won the Independent Retailer of the Year and Best Customer Service awards agreed. She said: “To win two awards was amazing – it was a real validation of our goals. We received a lot of interest on social media following the win and I’m sure the awards have raised awareness of our business with people who might not have heard about us before. We are looking forward to giving it another crack in 2019.”
The awards are free and easy to enter online. You can also Nominate a Business based and trading in Southwark that you feel deserves to be recognised for its contribution to the community.
The closing date for all entries is 20 March 2019. The winners will be announced at a glittering, black-tie Gala Dinner & Charity Ball awards ceremony this summer, hosted by ITV Good Morning Britain presenter Michael Underwood.
The awards are sponsored by: London South Bank University, Southwark Chamber, Southwark Council, British Land, Delancey, Galliard Homes/Aviva Investors, Great Portland Estates, Landsec, Lendlease, London College of Communication UAL, Willmott Dixon and Media Partner Southwark News. They are supported by Forepure Brewing, and Shangri-La Hotel at the Shard.
