Horizon 22, Europe’s highest free public viewing gallery[1], will open for pre bookings on Wednesday 20th September 2023 ahead of its official launch on 27th September 2023.

Located on Level 58 of the City of London’s tallest building, 22 Bishopsgate, Horizon 22 will be the highest free viewing gallery in Europe, at 254 metres or 833 ft above ground. 22 Bishopsgate is a 62-storey smart building with a vision to create a place where people thrive.

A new Horizon

Offering a completely new perspective of London’s sprawling capital, visitors will enjoy unique views of London’s most iconic landmarks including the ‘Cheesegrater’, ‘Walkie Talkie’ ‘Gherkin’, St Paul’s Cathedral and Tower Bridge, as well as across the River Thames to the Shard.
Horizon 22 will be open 7 days a week from 10am, closing at 6pm on weekdays, 5pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

The attraction is fully accessible and free to access with pre-bookings available from 20th September, at which point the website will become fully operational (and will be available via www.horizon22.co.uk). A small number of walk-in spaces will be available throughout the day, but advance booking is highly recommended.

An express lift to new heights
Horizon 22 has its own entrance direct from Bishopsgate. Having passed through ticketing and security, visitors will be whisked up to Level 58 mezzanine in 41 seconds in one of the two high speed lifts serving the gallery, travelling at up to 8 metres per second.
Horizon 22’s main viewing gallery has an 8.4m/27.8 ft high ceiling to enhance the viewing experience, featuring triple glazed windows which are specially treated to maximise daylight and improve energy efficiency.
The gallery is open every day excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

A maximum of 9 tickets can be booked by each applicant. Larger parties such as school trips are welcome but must be booked in advance via the relevant section of the website. Visitors requiring any special assistance are invited to note this when booking or alert a member of the Horizon 22 team upon arrival.
Phillip Shalless, Senior Asset Manager at AXA IM Alts commented: “As the highest free public viewing gallery in London, we hope Horizon 22 will become a must-see destination for anyone visiting, living or working in this great city. Horizon 22 supports the Corporation of London’s ‘Destination City’ vision, which aims to increase the City’s appeal to all residents, workers, community groups and visitors, seven days a week. Completely free and fully accessible to all, Horizon 22 offers unparalleled views across the capital. Whether you’re a first-time visitor to the city, a local worker wanting to do something different in your lunch hour, or someone looking for that memorable place to propose, the soaring views from Horizon 22 provide the perfect backdrop. We very much look forward to welcoming our first visitors in September.”

Shravan Joshi, Chairman of the City of London Corporation Planning and Transportation Committee, said: “The opening of Horizon 22 is yet another huge vote of confidence in the City’s status, not only a global business hub, but also as a seven-day-a-week destination for everyone to enjoy. On top of the much-needed office space that 22 Bishopsgate provides, I am delighted that we can now widely share its free to access, public viewing gallery, which promises some of the best possible views of London.”
