On Friday 21st October, 37 ladies from across the country will battle it out for the Miss Great Britain 2022/23 title.
Joining them will be 25 ladies also competing for the Ms Great Britain 2022/23 and Ms Great Britain Classic 2022/23 titles. Ms Great Britain was introduced in 2020 for ladies aged 30+ in honour of Miss Great Britain’s 70th Anniversary Year. This welcomed an overwhelming response of ladies aged 40+ also wanting to compete and resulted in the organisation introducing a brand new title for 2021, Ms Great Britain Classic.
Ms Great Britain Classic is open for ladies aged 45+ with no upper age limit. This year will see Maureen Lewis, 73, mother, grandma, and former head teacher from Cardiff compete as the oldest lady to ever hold a Miss Great Britain finalist title in its 77 years.
In January this year former Miss Great Britain, Saffron Hart, and her partner Matt Elliott were officially announced as the new National Directors. Saffron Hart has been an integral part of the Miss Great Britain organisation since winning the national title in 2017.
Miss Great Britain is the oldest and most prestigious pageant in the UK and welcomes women from all backgrounds. With no restrictions now on age, background, marital and parental status, it’s fast becoming the most modern-day pageant in the UK. The prestigious event will take place at the Athena in Leicester for the ninth year running.
Before the event, each of the girls have invested their time and effort into supporting the two nominated charities, promoting the sponsors, working in their communities and on their passions as well as helping to build the brand of Miss Great Britain. Before the big reveal, the 63 hopefuls will take part in a one-to-one judges interview, dazzling fashion wear, swimwear and evening wear round for their last chance to impress the judging panel.
The judging panel consists of 6 professionals from various industries and all extremely reputable within their field. This year’s judges are:

Kirsty Fletcher – the first ever Ms Great Britain Classic 2021/22 crowned in September 2021.
Sally-Ann Fawcett – Author of the top-selling Beauty Pageant book series ‘Misdemeanours’ ** Sally-Ann has been appointed as Head Judge **
Kirsty Gale – Founder and CEO of Red Carpet Ready the UK’s largest Dress Specialists, located near Lincoln and the Official Recommended Dress Partner of Miss Great Britain 2022.
Tom Hui – Marketing Executive of Dukes the Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel in Dubai and Prize Sponsor of Miss Great Britain 2022.
This year, Miss Great Britain has chosen to support Leicester-based charity Alex’s Wish, Curing Duchenne, and nationwide charity Cancer Research UK. Over £150,000 has so far been raised in recent years for these two charities with the hope of exceeding that on the night through a charity raffle. Hosting this year’s event is former Miss Great Britain Deone Gillespie and presenter Simon Robertson.
The winner of Miss Great Britain will receive an abundance of exciting prizes including an all-expenses paid trip to represent GB at Miss Tourism World, a complimentary stay at Dukes the Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel in Dubai, and a years wardrobe for high-profile events courtesy of Red Carpet Ready.
