Ex-Love Island star and London Lions captain Ovie Soko put up a spectacular performance this afternoon to lead the London Lions to a 79 -71 victory in the BBL Cup Final against Leicester Riders at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena.
The BBL Cup is equivalent of football’s FA Cup, marking a big moment in Ovie’s sporting career. This was the first time the Lions had lifted the trophy since 2019.
Ovie proved too much to handle as the Lions capped off a memorable occasion in front of a capacity crowd to claim the first major trophy of the British Basketball calendar and the bragging rights over their arch-rivals.
In addition, there was also a number of high-profile stars including former Love-Island star Mac Griffiths, Birmingham City’s Troy Deeney, and MOBO award-winning musicians, Not3s, Lady Leshurr, and hip hop duo Young T & Bugsey in attendance to witness a great afternoon of electrifying action and entertainment.
