TICKETS for the long-awaited new James Bond spectacular, No Time To Die, are now on sale for all Vue’s London sites, as the cinema reveals new research showing that half of the people in London have returned to the big screen since restrictions eased in May. In fact, when it comes to those in London who previously identified as cinema-goers, two-thirds have already been back.
Findings from the second stage of Vue’s Fulfilment Report, in conjunction with research agency Kokoro, show that anticipation is building for No Time To Die, as out of the line-up of new films coming up this year, cinema-goers are the most excited about the 25th Bond outing.
They also can’t wait to see it on the big screen where it belongs as according to newly released industry research, 40% of cinema-goers have cited missing the experience as their main reason for returning.
The fifth and final appearance of Daniel Craig as the iconic MI6 agent sees Bond come out of retirement to help an old friend from the CIA and is led onto the trail of a mysterious, masked villain armed with dangerous technology known only as Safin (Rami Malek). The first ever Bond instalment to be filmed in IMAX sees Craig and Malek joined by Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny. It will be no surprise that the film will dazzle audiences with its gadget uses, but have you ever wondered how realistic the franchise’s gadgets are and whether we can use them in real-life?
Nevertheless, tickets for the new film are on sale across all Vue sites, with special midnight screenings taking place on the night of its release.*
Asa Brennan, General Manager at Vue West End, said: “It’s been great to see more and more customers returning to the big screen experience over the last few months, and now that the biggest cinema moment of the year, No Time To Die, is on the way, we look forward to welcoming back more film fans who may not have been here for a while, to immerse themselves in the full big screen experience.”
The new research also found that those who have returned to the cinema are twice as likely to rank it as a hassle-free activity compared to other pastimes, while 99% of returning cinema-goers have said they were happy with the standard of safety measures in place and 95% would recommend it to others after their visit. According to Vue’s own customers, 98% appreciate the spectacular visuals on offer with 97% being fans of the immersive sound.
The Fulfilment Report is a year-long survey of cinema-goers that has also found that two-thirds of cinema-goers say that watching a film on the big screen would have a positive impact on their mental state that day.
Toby Bradon, General Manager, Vue UK and Ireland, said: “The data gathered by the cinema industry as well as our own Fulfilment Report not only shows that people are increasingly returning to the cinema, but also paints a picture of the aspects of the experience that they have been enjoying, and as we suspected, it’s that emotional connection and complete escapism that is so unique to this setting.
“Understanding our customers and the emotional connection that can be provided for them by the cinema is so important for us, and we will continue to build information on this in the Fulfilment Report over the coming months.
“After the fantastic opening last week for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, it is clear that the pent up demand for amazing stories on the big screen is starting to come to fruition.
“We’re so excited to bring all the action from James Bond in No Time To Die as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen with ultimate picture, seating and sound, to allow those who have waited to long for its release to enjoy it the way that resonates as deeply as possible with the viewer.”
