Experience Abu Dhabi, the destination brand of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has partnered with Tripadvisor to take UK audiences on an immersive travel planning journey where they can see and explore Abu Dhabi in exciting new ways.
Hosted at London Outernet from 8-9 November, the ‘Tripadvisor Presents an Immersive Abu Dhabi Experience’ event will take attendees on an engaging virtual voyage powered by user-generated content, reviews and experiences.
Visitors will be able to experience traditional Al Sadu weaving workshops, Gahwa coffee preparation and Oud fragrance making classes, set against the backdrop of beautiful Abu Dhabi landscapes – a unique mix of 4D digital art, Tripadvisor content and first-hand visitor tips brought to life by on-hand expert guides.
Building on the 10-year partnership which saw the creation of the world’s first virtual voice tour of a destination on Alexa and episodes of The Wanderer – a travel series on Amazon Prime – Experience Abu Dhabi has joined forces with Tripadvisor’s Wanderlab again, to design the latest unforgettable experience that will showcase what the emirate has to offer.
Visitors will enjoy a warm Emirati welcome from expert travel guides, before embarking on a multi-sensory journey through three themed zones. The Arcade Tunnel’s 360-degree screens will envelop guests in iconic scenes of the city, highlighting travellers’ favourite experiences with Tripadvisor reviews brought to life. Now Building will immerse visitors in an Abu Dhabi backdrop with data-driven animations that transport them between landmarks. Finally, a distinctly Arabian setting awaits in the Now Trending zone, with styled seating and digital windows showcasing vibrant stories of the city.
Guests can capture their memories at the mobile Polaroid bar, with take-home, virtual holiday pictures set against their backdrop of choice. Travel stamps from each of the three zones unlock an exclusive, virtual viewing platform adventure, and the opportunity to be entered into a sweepstake to WIN A FABULOUS LUXURY HOLIDAY FOR TWO TO ABU DHABI.
‘Tripadvisor Presents an Immersive Abu Dhabi Experience’ takes place at London Outernet, Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 8LH on November 8, from noon to 10pm and November 9, from 11am to 9pm. Entry is free and visitors do not need to book.
