This Christmas, step into a magical winter wonderland at the Royal Opera House and enjoy a range of festive activities.

Treat your children to Nutcracker biscuit decorating in the ROH Café, guided by our own in-house patisserie team. Workshops will be hosted on 28 November and 12 December from 12pm to 1pm and 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Sessions cost £15 per child, no booking is required and allocation is on a first come, first served basis.

Visit the Piazza Winter Terrace Bar this December for a delicious range of Winter cocktails designed in partnership with Grey Goose vodka. Cosy up with a Christmas Cosmopolitan, wintery mulled pear and ginger pick-me-up, or an eggnog White Russian. Alternatively, watch your cocktail transform into ice cream on a teppanyaki freezer top. The Piazza Winter Terrace Bar will be open daily from 18 November – 12 January from 12pm – Late. No booking is required.

Pick and choose between exquisite festive treats in the ROH Café — all inspired by The Nutcracker and the magic of Christmas, and available throughout the day at the café counter. Perfect for lunch or an afternoon tea break, the dishes can be enjoyed at home or in ROH’s winter inspired decorated spaces.

This Christmas, be transported to a far-away land complete with enchanted forests and mystical creatures in Wolf Witch Giant Fairy – a collaboration between The Royal Opera and innovative theatre company Little Bulb. Opening on 17 December, the production will be both The Royal Opera’s first fully staged work in the beautiful Linbury Theatre since closure in March 2020, and also the first show at Covent Garden where all performances are relaxed — allowing for noise and movement within the auditorium, re-entry when needed, and including chill-out spaces. Tickets are available now from just £4.

The Royal Ballet’s classic production of The Nutcracker, set to Tchaikovsky’s much-loved score, is as enchanting as ever, taking audiences on a journey packed with mystery and magic. Join Clara as she travels to the Land of Sweets, encountering a flurry of snowflakes and the Sugar Plum Fairy on the way. The festive favourite returns to the Royal Opera House Main Stage on 23 November, and will be broadcast live to UK cinemas on 9 December. Find your local cinema screening here.

Whether you are bringing family together this Christmas for delicious seasonal treats, or planning to enjoy fabulously festive cocktails with friends, head to the Royal Opera House.
