Families can step into a world of magic, music and circus artistry during the Easter holidays when Britten Sinfonia presents Tales from the Circus at Big Penny Social (Saturday 11 April, 11.30am – 12.20pm).
Designed for children aged 4–11 and their families, the concert brings the much-loved picture book Leon and the Place Between to life through live orchestral music, storytelling, animation and circus performance.
Circus artist Jordan Morton-Trowers joins Britten Sinfonia and presenter Lucy Drever for this imaginative show, featuring music by composer Paul Rissmann and animations by Victor Craven.
Together they tell the story of Leon, a young boy determined to prove to his brothers and sister that magic really exists. When Leon volunteers for a magician’s act, he is whisked away to the magical “Place Between”, where everything that disappears in a magic trick ends up. Animation, storytelling, live music and circus artistry bring his adventure vividly to life.
This concert invites children to step inside a magical story where music, pictures and circus all work together. It’s a wonderful way for families to experience live orchestral music in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Britten Sinfonia is well known for its imaginative family concerts, introducing children to orchestral music through storytelling, visuals and creative performance.
