Toshiba TV has teamed up with Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps to celebrate the release of the film hitting cinemas Thursday 24th July. This collaboration brings together Toshiba TV’s “Seeing is Believing” campaign with Marvel’s iconic storytelling, delivering an unforgettable retro-futuristic experience for fans and aspiring creators.

Celebrating the film’s UK cinema release, Toshiba TV hosted an interactive pop-up at Westfield Stratford, London, taking over Four Dials to bring the film’s vibrant 1960s-inspired world to life. Fans were able to scan a QR code on a digital screen to unlock an exclusive AR experience that immersed them in The Fantastic Four: First Steps universe.

The experience saw cosplayer fans and passers by stopping to attend the pop-up and capture retro-futuristic images, grabbing a free packet of limited-edition popcorn ahead of their trip to go and see the film.

Set in a retro-futuristic 1960s world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family – Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). As they battle to protect Earth from the cosmic threat of Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his Herald, the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner), the team must balance heroism with the bonds of family.

Fans across the country will also be able to trial the AR experience for themselves by keeping an eye out for billboards and simply scanning the QR code with their smartphone.

David Flintoft, Sales & Marketing Director at Toshiba TV, said: “This collaboration with Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps is a perfect match for Toshiba TV’s ‘Seeing is Believing’ campaign, which aims to bring bold imagination and high-quality home entertainment together.

“This collaboration not only celebrates a landmark cinematic release but also reinforces our dedication to helping entertain the nation.”
