Come in from the cold and celebrate the season with Lanes of London’s Festive Afternoon Tea, available from Saturday 15 November. This classic tradition meets with a joyful seasonal twist, where delicate savouries meet playful patisserie inspired by the magic of Christmas — think edible Santa’s sleighs, sparkling presents and holiday candles.
Begin with a tempting selection of savoury bites, including turkey and cranberry bonbons and a smoked salmon and Cornish crab tartare mille-feuille. Other savouries include a truffle polenta canapé with whipped goat cheese, confit tomato and orange marmalade and a pumpkin caponata and red onion filo parcel.
These are followed by sweetest of seasonal creations such as Santa’s Sleigh — a fruit cake with ginger shortbread and vanilla frosting; a Christmas Present red plum cheesecake with cherry compote; an Upside-Down Santa featuring mixed berry compote and chocolate parfait; and the Holiday Candle, an orange sponge cake with cinnamon crème chiboust.
Freshly baked plain and seasonal spiced mixed fruit scones are served with Cornish clotted cream and cranberry jam, while the experience is complemented by a selection of JING teas or a glass of fizz for some added seasonal sparkle.
The Festive Afternoon Tea is priced from £50 per person, including a glass of bubbles, with an option to upgrade to 90 minutes of free-flowing Cava for an additional £25. Available daily from 15 November, 12pm–4pm at Lanes of London.
