To celebrate the art season in London, Fitzrovia Quarter is excited to announce the unveiling of a striking new hand-painted, 13.5 metre-tall commission, Threads in Common by emerging artist Oliwia Bober on Mortimer Street, and will host a special three-day art pop-up exhibition at 55 Eastcastle Street, from 23-25 October 2025, known as The Artist’s Corner.
Fitzrovia has a thriving gallery scene and is home to eighteen art galleries. This central London location has retained its creative spirit, full of remarkable craftsmanship, artists, designers, unexpected buildings and artworks.
The Artist’s Corner exhibition will be free to the public, inviting visitors to discover the work of young, emerging artists and experience Fitzrovia Quarter’s creative energy firsthand. Inspired by the new mural commissioned by The Langham Estate, the pop-up will bring together the destination’s contemporary creative communities to create a bold and eclectic showcase of its flourishing gallery scene. Alongside further works from mural artist Oliwia Bober, the exhibition will present a curated selection of artwork from local galleries such as Pontone Gallery, Ab-Anbar Gallery, ST.ART Gallery, Eclectic Gallery alongside local partners Cartoon Museum, Fitzrovia Chapel and The Newman hotel. This is the first time that so many Fitzrovia galleries and artists have come together, and it’s inspiring to see them exhibiting collectively under one cohesive roof. The exhibition will feature works on paper and canvas alongside photography, resin tiles, and installation pieces showcasing emerging artists such as Taya De La Cruz, Melissa Hartley, Marie Louise Jones and Bea Santos.

The ST.ART Mobile Gallery Bike called ‘DEFROST LONDON’ that will launch during Frieze week 2025, will also make an appearance. This sculptural, collapsible exhibition on a bike brings contemporary art into public space – part installation, part intervention with works by Cem Hasimi, Baris Kareli, Tom Enoch, Frankie Boyle, Mason Newman, and Pneuhaus.

Some works on display at The Artist’s Corner use textiles to explore connections to place and identify such as Neda Razavipour’s ‘Silk Road’ and Beatriz Santos’ and ‘Laundry Line’, while others negotiate issue of identity through symbols and costume (in oils, acrylic and gouache) such as Ben Edge’s ‘The Mummers Play’, Sarah Muirhead’s ‘Touch’ and Oliwia Bober’s ‘Folk Costume’.
Curator Lydia Allain Chapman said: “I’m thrilled to see this pop-up gallery come to life in the heart of Fitzrovia, a neighbourhood long defined by its creative spirit. This exhibition brings together a community of emerging and established artists, fostering collaboration and showcasing new perspectives. Through figurative, abstract, and installation works, the exhibition explores how place and identity intersect, creating a dialogue between the gallery and the public realm. Collaborating with so many partners on this project has been a rich experience, and the result is something bold and eclectic that feels uniquely Fitzrovia.”
To mark the occasion, local restaurants, hotels and other businesses will be joining in with special privileges, arts-themed cocktails/menus, and their own unique events, encouraging visitors to spend time exploring this exciting cultural hub of central London. Whether discovering emerging or established artists, enjoying a one-off dining experience, or taking advantage of exclusive promotions, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
From independent galleries and music venues to historic landmarks and cultural institutions, Fitzrovia Quarter is a dynamic, creative neighbourhood where London’s artistic heritage meets West End charm. This bustling area is also excited to welcome a new exhibition and event space in the heart of Fitzrovia called Ibraaz, which will be housed in a historic 10,000-square-foot Grade II listed building at 93 Mortimer Street. The space will have a year-round programme of exhibitions and events with a focus on the Global Majority.
With an exciting lineup of events and installations this year, visitors can explore Fitzrovia Quarter’s creative energy, stumble upon hidden gems, and enjoy moments of discovery at every turn this Autumn.
