Barserve are pleased to announce the return of their community outreach offering free lunch and drinks to community groups from around South London to coincide with the activities taking place as part of Summer By the River 2024.
Following the success of last year’s initiative, Barserve hosted over 100 lunches and refreshments served to community groups including, Britebox, Bubble Theatre, Beyond Food, Saving Souls, Poppy Appeal Bermondsey and Rotherhithe, Cop Community, Maintaining Health Partnership, Standards, South London Cares, Outings in Art, and One Southwark.
The lunches will take place in their two new stunning bars situated close to Tower Bridge, Riverside Terrace – The Scoop Bar and Riverside Pavilion – The Pier Bar on Monday- Wednesday from June until August 2024 for 20 people and includes a lunch and a drink.
Both bars have been designed to echo a medley of Moroccan influences, with hints of incredible patterns, flanked by clusters of potted plants and palm trees create a relaxing environment to enjoy the entertainment, delicious hot food reflecting the theme, and a well earnt drink as well as a photo opportunity.
Riverside Terrace, boasts a 360 degree camera, which rotates to capture the full beauty of this world class vista, for the first time visitors can have a truly memorable image of their visit to Summer By The River sent directly to them.
Barserve has been working with London Bridge City on initiatives to engage with the local community, building partnerships to encourage residents to enjoy the activities on offer. The Summer By The River programme provides an entertainment and social hub for office occupiers, local community groups and schools, as well as, Londoners, and inquisitive tourists – to grab a refreshment whilst soaking up the atmosphere with iconic views of Tower Bridge.
Ivor Wilkins, Barserve CEO, commented, “The idea is simple, give something back to the local community. Community groups have used these dines as a chance to reward volunteers, celebrate success or just as a fun gathering for regulars and members of their group. The free lunch and drinks were a great success last year with over a hundred local people attending alongside local businesses and tourists and we hope that more groups join us this year”.
Along with community groups enjoying the lunches and entertainment in The Scoop last year saw First Dates star Fred Sirieix join the team and mix cocktails at Riverside Terrace bar as part of G-vine gin promotions – this season catch other celebrities all whilst soaking up the fun in the sun.
