Join East London Illustrator, Erin Aniker for free, festive, feminist card making workshops this December at Urban Makers Christmas Market at The Ecology Pavilion in Mile End, East London this Saturday 13th December 2025. All arts and crafts and drawing materials are provided and all proceeds raised from donations on the day are going to EVAW (End Violence Against Women and Girls Charity). Book your free ticket for one of the three workshops here.
There will be three, hour-long workshops with a range of illustrated, black and white customisable card templates created by Erin with festive Feminist slogans such as ‘Sleigh the Patriarchy’, ‘Christmas Lights & Equal Rights’ and ‘Sister, Act!’ which have been inspired by the Feminist poster designs of See Red Women’s workshop.
There will also be a handful of more traditional festive card templates available to customise including the illustrator’s designs: ‘Winter Warmer’s’; featuring an illustrated crowd of Londoner’s all wearing festive jumpers and scarves, ‘Chosen Christmas Tree’; showing a Christmas tree shaped triangle of chosen family topped by a starry collared cat and ‘Illuminate’; a towering festive shaped candle of people holding a flame that was originally created for the Quentin Blake Centre of Illustration.
All arts & craft materials are included within the range of mentioned illustrated card templates to embellish, decorate and customize for those completely new to illustration and drawing with the option to also create your own design, guided by Erin, from scratch too. There will be traditional drawing materials on hand such as coloured pencils, pens, markers and quick drying water based paint pens as well as craft materials including coloured cards, papers, collage materials, pom-poms, glitter pens, coloured washi-tapes, scissors and glue sticks. If you would like to bring along any other arts and crafts materials of your own, you are very welcome to.
The workshops are open to everybody of all abilities, backgrounds and ages including adults, young people and children. Whilst children of all ages are very welcome, please ensure that any young children are supervised by their parents or caregivers during the workshop.
