This week, Londoners can taste the capital in a cone with the launch of Gett’s London themed ice creams which will be available for FREE outside Regent’s Park every day from Wednesday 18 until Sunday 22nd June from 2pm daily until stocks run out.
With experimental flavours like Classic Pie and Mash, Beer Garden Pint and East End Curry – flavours which were nominated by Gett’s fleet of London taxi drivers – the question is, are you really a Londoner if you haven’t tried it?
The flavours:
● Beer Garden Pint – those lazy London afternoons captured in a beer ice cream (Adnams’ Ghost Ship IPA 0.5%) topped with scampi fries.
● Pie & Mash – parsley mash, caramelised onion gravy and option of jellied eel caramel sauce, made with a little help from timeless pie & mash pioneers M.Manze.
● East End Curry – Karahi ice cream swirled with mango mint sauce, developed with legendary East End Punjabi restaurant Tayyabs.
Gett’s bright orange Ice Cream Taxi will be parked in the Outer Circle from Wednesday 18 June – Sunday 22 June from 2pm daily – anyone can pop along in the sunshine and try the flavours for free.
If you can’t make it to Regent’s Park this weekend there is another chance to get free icy refreshments as the Gett Ice Cream Taxi will embark a road trip across the capital, delivering ice lollies to London offices between Tuesday 24 June and Saturday 28 June. Book your slot!
To help choose the flavours, Gett’s Ice Cream Taxi driver Darren Armsby performed a ‘taste test.’ He says: “London has always had an eclectic palate, and these ice creams celebrate our legendary food scene.
“It wasn’t easy to narrow down the options, but we’ve come up with three incredible flavours that are like no ice creams you’ll have ever tasted before. Londoners will love it! See for yourself and come and visit our cab at Taste of London. Everyone is welcome.”
Chris Lewis, Managing Director of Gett UK, adds: “Just as cabbies never fail to surprise us with their knowledge of London, we wanted to boldly go where no ice cream has ever gone before. What if we could capture the taste of London in ice cream form?”
“From your local pub lunch to your favourite East End curry, these unique ice creams celebrate London in all its knickerbocker glory.”
