Former Tottenham and Real Madrid footballer, Gareth Bale, has visited the Clerk & Well pub in Clerkenwell to mark a major milestone for Heineken 0.0, pouring a pint to celebrate the installation of the brand’s 1000th tap.
Five-time Champions League winner Bale rose to fame at Tottenham Hotspur, winning two PFA Player of the Year awards, gaining millions of fans in the process and cementing his status as a Premier League legend.
Leaving for a then world record fee of £85.1 million, Bale’s success came at Real Madrid winning the Champions League five times and La Liga three times while also guiding Wales to a European Championship semi-final.
After retiring from football aged 33, Bale now enjoys playing golf and is an ambassador for Heineken, visiting Stonegate Group’s Clerk & Well pub to celebrate the installation of the 1000th tap of Heineken 0.0.
A proud ambassador for men’s health and fitness, Bale proudly supports Heineken 0.0, promoting that giving up alcohol doesn’t mean giving up a social life.
Gareth Bale said: ““It’s been fantastic spending the day at a true London pub in the Clerk & Well to celebrate the launch of Heineken 0.0’s 1000th tap.
“As someone who doesn’t drink, I love that no and low alcohol options like Heineken 0.0 allow me to enjoy a night out with friends, some great beer, and I still wake up feeling fresh – all while being the healthier choice too.”
Nick Marks, Group Commercial Director at Stonegate Group, said: “We’re honoured that Heineken have chosen the Clerk & Well to host this event as we celebrate the 1000th tap installation of Heineken 0.0.
“As consumer drinking habits evolve, the demand for no and low alcohol options has grown significantly in recent years. At Stonegate Group, we’re committed to offering a diverse and inclusive range of drinks, ensuring all our guests can enjoy a great experience in our pubs, bars, and clubs – whatever their preference.”
