A delicious bowl of pasta is loved by all, but for some, dietary requirements can get in the way of enjoying the tasty dish. 1 in 100 people in the UK have coeliac disease, meaning gluten-free diets are essential for easy eating. Since Pasta Evangelists restaurants first hit the streets of the UK, customers have begged us to bring a gluten-free pasta option to the menu and now, it’s arrived!
Officially launched in restaurants, the new gluten-free pasta takes the shape of ‘Farfalle’ pasta – a ‘bow-shaped’ structure that is one of Italy’s oldest pasta shapes, dating back as far as the 16th century. The pasta gets its name from the Italian word for ‘butterfly’ thanks to its close resemblance. Farfalle’s crimped shape ensures the pasta captures whatever sauce it’s paired with. This means Farfalle can be served in a variety of ways from soups to salads and everything in between, making it the perfect all-rounder pasta for gluten-free diners.
Finn Lagun, Co-Founder of Pasta Evangelists, comments on the long-awaited launch: “From the first day we opened our restaurants, customers have been pleading with us to add gluten-free pasta to the menu. But taste is everything and we wanted to get it just right. With our new gluten-free farfalle, diners who avoid gluten can finally enjoy the full Pasta Evangelists experience – choosing their favourite sauce and pairing it with a pasta shape that captures all the flavour. It’s something our community has been asking for years, and we’re delighted to finally make it a reality.”
