CW+ relaunches GreenUP activity programme at West Middlesex University Hospital to boost health and wellbeing through nature, creativity, and movement – open to all!

CW+, the official charity of West Middlesex University Hospital, is delighted to announce the relaunch of its GreenUP programme – a dynamic series of free activities designed to connect patients, staff, visitors, and the local community with the power of nature, creativity and movement.

Running until November, the GreenUP activity programme offers something for everyone, from green learning sessions to mosaic and art workshops, yoga, Zumba, Salsa, and mindful journalling. These inspiring sessions are delivered in partnership with leading organisations including Kew Royal Botanic Gardens, Turner’s House, and The Arts Centre Hounslow.

Emily Thomas, Arts Manager at West Middlesex University Hospital, said: ‘We’re excited to relaunch the GreenUP activity programme and invite everyone from across the community to get involved. Whether you’re looking to learn something new, get creative, boost your fitness, or simply relax and recharge in nature, GreenUP has a session for you. We can’t wait for you to experience the incredible wellbeing benefits this programme offers – come and be part of something special!’

To celebrate the relaunch, CW+ joined forces with NHS Forest to host a series of tree-planting events, helping to create a greener, more sustainable hospital site and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.

Thanks to a generous grant from the Greener Communities Fund – a partnership between NHS Charities Together (NHSCT) and environmental charity Hubbub, supported by Starbucks – GreenUP has transformed an underused lakeside area at the hospital into a vibrant outdoor hub for community connection, creativity and wellbeing. With new planting, better pathways, and a dedicated space for workshops and events, it is now a more vibrant, welcoming area.

GreenUP is more than just a programme – it is central to CW+’s work to improve the hospital experience, strengthen community ties, and promote health and wellbeing through nature.
