Danson House and Greenwich Market have today announced that they will be supporting Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice this Christmas to raise money by running two Santa’s Grottos.
Children’s magical visit will involve a personal meeting with Santa, where they can tell him their Christmas wishes and receive their gift.
The Danson House Grotto will take place in the stunning library room of the House on the following dates (time will vary):
Thursday 1st December to Sunday 4th December
Thursday 8th December to Sunday 11th December
Thursday 15th December to Sunday 18th December
Monday 19th December to Saturday 24th December
The Greenwich Market Grotto will be held at 11 Dunford Street, next to the food market. The dates for the Market Grotto are as follows (times will vary):
Wednesday 16th November
Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December
Friday 9th to Sunday 11th December
Friday 16th December
Monday 19th to Saturday 23rd December.
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is proud to say that its Grottos are diverse and inclusive spaces. This means that families might see a Santa from an African, Asian or European background when they visit.
By supporting these Grottos, families will be giving the patients that the hospice cares for the gift of time, helping them to make beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
Events Manager, Augusta Adu, said: “Fundraising activities such as these are so important to our hospice and allow us to care for our patients to the best standards. The money raised from the Grottos enables us to give our patients and their families a gift that truly matters to each individual. So, thank you for all of your support.
“We decided to have Santas from different ethnic backgrounds because we believe it’s important to reflect the communities we serve across everything we do. We hope that it makes even more children feel accepted and welcomed.”
All grotto visits are advanced booking only. Tickets are from £10 per child (which includes a gift), with all proceeds helping to provide special end-of-life care and support to families this Christmas.
