Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice welcomed the return of their Colour Run Party and were thrilled to host nearly 800 runners.
An uplifting performance from the Rock Choir kicked off the event, with the choir setting the tone for a party atmosphere. Runners were raring to go with their Colour Run sunglasses, snood and pouch of paint for the paint party.
The four colour stations around the 5k route really got into the spirit of things by enthusiastically throwing paint on the runners. And, once they crossed the finish line, a team from Wincanton Thameside smothered runners in clouds of multi-coloured paint as local band M T Pockets performed a selection of funk, soul and pop, including a fabulous rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain!
The day ended perfectly with the London School of Performing Arts performing show tunes as supporters enjoyed the food and drink stalls hosted by CC Events UK and soaked up the last of the late September sunshine.
Events Manager, Augusta Adu, said: “We are overwhelmed by the support from the community who signed up in droves helping the event to sell out. Our events are such an integral part of helping us to provide care for patients and families.
She added, “I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support in making this event possible.”
The Colour Run Party will return in 2023.
All of the money raised at the Colour Run Party event helps Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice to support patients with terminal illnesses and their families.
