Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice’s much-loved Mini Marathon will return to Royal Greenwich Park for its 11th year on Sunday, 12 May.
This year marks three decades of the charity supporting people living with terminal illnesses in the community and hosting vital fundraising events that help provide a range of care and support services to patients in the Borough of Royal Greenwich and London Borough of Bexley.
As part of its 30th anniversary celebration, the hospice will be holding its annual fundraiser for the under 16s at Royal Greenwich Park. And it is set to be their best yet.
Every year, young hospice heroes aged 5 to 16 don their fancy dress and running shoes and show their community spirit in their hundreds as they run, jog or walk 2.62 miles around the park.
Last year, over 900 children took part in the flagship fundraising event, helping to raise a whopping £49,862 for the charity. The hospice hopes this year will be bigger and better and encourages families to sign up and enjoy a fun-filled day while doing their bit to support local patients at a time when they need it the most.
