Greggs set to transform Leicester Square shop into Wicked inspired immersive experience

Greggs, the UK’s leading food-on-the-go retailer, has today announced a magical new partnership with Universal Pictures to celebrate the release of Wicked: For Good, the epic conclusion to the global cinematic sensation, landing in UK cinemas 21st November.

The collaboration will bring the magic of Oz to life for Greggs and Wicked: For Good fans across the UK with unique immersive green and grand shop experiences, and exclusive new products.
All roads lead to Oz, with the store takeovers that will be landing in Manchester and London from Friday 7th November. This perfect duet calls for a makeover as Greggs will be transforming two of
its flagship shops into a wickedly wonderful world of Oz for just under 6 weeks.

Greggs’ London Leicester Square and Manchester Trafford Centre shops will be donned in iconic pink and green, alongside Greggs’ very own Yellow Bake Road until Wednesday 17th December, to celebrate the upcoming cinema release of Wicked: For Good. The two shops will bring the immersive and bewitching universe of Glinda and Elphaba to life, inviting Greggs fans to indulge in a little everyday magic through each and every touchpoint within the shops.

And it doesn’t stop there as Greggs will be hosting an exclusive launch event at the transformed Greggs shop in Leicester Square on Friday 7th November between 9.30am – 5pm.

In line with the shop’s starry location, Greggs will be rolling out the Yellow Bake Road – an Ozian take on the iconic red carpet – and giving the first 100 customers an exclusive VIP lanyard to mark their entrance granting them a free Festive Bake, whilst the first 25 superfans will also get their hands on a limited-edition official Elphaba or Glinda Travel Cup– complete with a free hot drink of their choice. And every hour between 9.30am – 5pm, Greggs will give away free Festive Bakes as Greggs customers step into the world of Wicked: For Good at the London Leicester Square shop.

Greggs and Wicked: For Good fans alike are encouraged to showcase their finest Oz inspired looks, ahead of posing in front of a dazzling paparazzi board. The exclusive event will also feature spot prizes for best dressed attendees, with Greggs gift cards and official Wicked: For Good merchandise to be won throughout the day. With plenty of prizes up for grabs, there’s no second guessing this one.

Those wanting to enjoy a piece of the Yellow Bake Road from the comfort of their own home can enjoy exclusive gravity-defying deliveries through Just Eat as 650 of the limited-edition Greggs x Wicked Baked For Good boxes will launch on Monday 10th November at 11am, from just £12.

The bake boxes will be available for delivery exclusively via Just Eat in locations across London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Cardiff, Nottingham, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, and Edinburgh. Including a selection of six bake favourites, fit for the Emerald City, including the newly launched Festive Bake and Vegan Lattice (Festive Edition) – alongside a Steak Bake, Chicken Bake, Cheese & Onion Bake, and a Sausage, Bean & Cheese Melt, there’s something in there for every Ozmopolitan.

Off to see The Wizard? Greggs are also launching limited-edition travel cups that are a bubble of brilliance for any Wicked: For Good fan who’s also partial to a Greggs. With an Elphaba Travel Cup and Glinda Travel Cup both available in over 1,500 Greggs shops nationwide, there’s the perfect cup for everyone, for just £8.
