Guy Earl of Warwick Wins Digital Pub of the Year

The Guy Earl of Warwick in Welling, South East London has won the Digital Pub of the Year award at the pub industry’s nationally recognised Night of Excellence Awards.

The pub won the award for its continued, innovative use of its social media presence to engage with customers and attract pub goers.

Since taking on the Guy Earl just two and a half years ago, franchisees Ray and Bonnie, along with their team, have grown their Facebook community to over Six thousand followers, providing engaging content that spans from food and drink offers to charity events and fund team shenanigans.

Six months ago they also launched a Tik Tok account for the pub, rapidly gaining Sixteen Thousand followers and over Nine Million views.

The pub’s use of these social media platforms for pranks, charity donations and local community shout-outs has even been recognised by LadBible.

In turn, their powerful digital reach has elevated an already exceptional pub to a whole new level, driving business and community connection to the pub.

The Night of Excellence Awards celebrate the success of great licensees and the businesses they run in partnership with Greene King Pub Partners. They comprise of 17 awards ranging from Community Pub of the Year to Entertainment Pub of the Year, which are all sponsored by key suppliers to the pub sector and well-known brands such as Heineken, Coca-Cola and Diageo.

This year, the awards were held at a grand ceremony and dinner hosted at the voco St. John’s hotel in Solihull.

The awards event was attended by hundreds of licensees from across the country who work with Greene King Pub Partners as well as representatives from the hospitality and pub sector including the British Beer & Pub Association and the UKHospitality trade association.
