MORNING shoppers visiting their local High Street were invited into their opticians to celebrate the recent store facelift. Visitors and customers alike mingled with guests sampling the goodies and treats on offer.
Specsavers Harlesden, a cornerstone of the community for the last 16 years, recently underwent a transformation, with the updated, stylised new frame displays, in-store lighting and wall mounts and enhanced floor space, providing a more streamlined customer experience.
To mark this significant investment of £200,000 into the business, the Mayor of Brent, Cllr Tariq Dar MBE, was invited to cut the green ribbon and re-launch the new-look store to the community.
Optometrist director Nav Sharma said: ‘We’re delighted the Mayor is able to join in our celebrations today. We’ve been part of the community since 2009, providing optical care to residents, commuters and businesses during this time.
‘Today marks a special occasion with the launch of the newly upgraded store, offering customers access to the very latest, diagnostic hospital grade testing equipment, clinical expertise and customer service. We’re looking forward to welcoming our customers into our new-look practice.’
During his official visit, Cllr Dar was introduced to store colleagues, plus the wider London Specsavers team who were on hand to celebrate the re-launch. The Mayor was also given a store tour and a sight test.
Specsavers Harlesden offers customers access to state-of-the-art pre-room testing diagnostic equipment, including a visual fields analyser and OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) examination. The OCT, which is advanced diagnostic, eye-scanning equipment, helps detect serious eye conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, up to four years earlier than traditional methods, and is currently on offer at the reduced price of just £5.
The added benefit of the scan is that each customer’s OCT images can be stored, with any changes being observed over time – a real benefit to the monitoring of someone’s overall eye health. There are three consulting rooms, dedicated diagnostic testing areas and a specific contact lens station offering enhanced facilities to customers.
For those that can’t leave their homes unaccompanied due to disability or illness, Specsavers also offers a Home Visits service covering more than 90% of the UK – with more details available at www.specsavers.co.uk/home-eye-tests.
To book in for a sight or hearing test, you can contact Specsavers Harlesden on 020 8453 8070. Sight test vouchers are available online for just £10 until 30 June – conditions apply. Alternatively, you can book online at https://www.specsavers.co.uk/stores/harlesden
