Music lovers and pop culture fans, get ready for an exciting new era! hmv has reopened in a new larger unit in Westfield London with a fresh new look.
The curtain has risen on the new-look store which features a completely reimagined space, designed to enhance the way fans discover music, film, and TV, with an unrivalled range that also includes pop culture merchandise, music technology, and literature.
With over 40,000 different products on offer, the 9,084 sq. ft store will offer fans of pop culture even more items to browse and discover.
Customers will be able to browse 6,000 different vinyl albums, 14,000 different CDs, as well as 8,500 films and TV shows on 4K Ultra HD, Blu Ray and DVD. There will also be an extensive range of merchandise on offer, with 5,000 pop culture products and 600 different T shirt design available across franchises including Pokémon, Star Wars, Marvel and DC.
The new store will be home to The HMV Bookshop, the third one in the UK following the success of the first in the retailer’s Oxford Street flagship store and the second in Belfast. The HMV Bookshop will feature a range of fiction and nonfiction titles to suit all interests, from classic and cult literature to popular manga, and famous biographies from well-loved bands and musicians. HMV recently appointed Ben Ashley-Faulkner as the new Head of Books, calling on his experience to help build a dynamic selection that inspires customers and puts books at the heart of HMV’s retail offering.
The store will also have a dedicated K-Pop space as a fan zone for listeners to come together and celebrate the genre. As well as an exciting range of physical media and merchandise, the space will be used for fan events, where the retailer will host listening parties and K-Pop events around key releases.
Phil Halliday, Managing Director at hmv and Fopp said: “The new store looks brilliant and is a testament to all the hard work the team have put into it over the past few weeks. With over 40,000 different products on offer, as well as dedicated spaces for books, K-Pop, and fan events, it has all the makings of a pop culture hub in the largest shopping centre in Europe. We can’t wait to welcome customers to see all it has to offer!”
All shoppers will be able to take advantage of the “hmv delivers” service, which allows customers to order any items not in store to be delivered direct to their door.
