A new fundraising campaign has launched, inviting the community to support the development of the Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre (ADC) at West Middlesex University Hospital.
The Hospital Next Door campaign, led by hospital
charity CW+, is aiming to raise £1.5m to enhance the NHS-funded facility with vital equipment – including a cutting-edge cardiac MRI scanner – and create modern, patient-friendly spaces.
At the heart of the campaign is the ‘buy a brick’
initiative. Supporters can make a donation and add their name and message to a virtual wall on the charity’s website, celebrating community backing for the project. Every brick will help fund the technology and enhancements that will ensure the new centre
meets the highest standards of care and patient experience.
The ADC, due to open in autumn 2026, will be a
game-changer for local healthcare, providing:
57% more diagnostic and treatment procedures each year – almost 85,000 in total
Faster, more accurate results for conditions including cancer and heart disease
Best-in-class cardiac imaging – vital in Hounslow where heart failure admission rates are the highest in England
A greatly improved environment for patients undergoing oncology, haematology and kidney dialysis treatment
Sarah McCullough, Director of Fundraising at CW+, said:
‘This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform care in West London. By buying a brick, our community can play a direct part in making the new Ambulatory Diagnostic
Centre the best it can be. Every brick in our wall represents a person or organisation helping to shape the future of local healthcare.’
Lesley Watts, CEO of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said:
‘This new facility supports our wider vision to deliver high-quality, accessible care closer to home, and we are proud to play a leading role in strengthening and improving NHS services in West London. I look forward to seeing the positive impact that it will
have for our patients and staff for years to come.’
The Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre is expected to
benefit thousands of patients each year and will also feature an education centre to attract and retain the very best NHS staff.
