Taylor Wimpey has donated £1,000 to The Felix Project, London’s largest food redistribution charity, to support its mission of providing nutritious meals to children and families this Christmas.

Every contribution makes a tangible difference, Taylor Wimpey’s £1000 donation has helped provide the equivalent of 2,700 meals. A donation of £50 enables The Felix Project to redistribute the equivalent of 135 meals, while every £1 donated allows the charity to deliver enough food for more than three meals.

The donation comes as The Felix Project’s latest survey of working families reveals the growing scale of food insecurity in London. The research found that 41% of parents are skipping meals or not buying food for themselves so their children can eat, with one in five parents saying they do this regularly.

In response to these findings, The Felix Project is calling for urgent support to help ensure children have reliable access to healthy food. Donations are used to rescue surplus food and redistribute it to schools, holiday clubs, food banks and community organisations. Taylor Wimpey’s donation will help the charity continue its vital work, contributing towards thousands of meals for children across London.

Sallinder Rai, Community & Events Fundraising Manager at The Felix Project, said: “Winter is always an incredibly tough time for so many people and The Felix Project is doing everything it can to rescue good food and get it to people who are struggling. We rely on donations from the public and corporate partners and having support from companies like Taylor Wimpey is vital. Simply put we could not feed people without it.”

Michael O’Leary, Regional Operations and Sales Director at Taylor Wimpey London, said: “We are proud to support The Felix Project and the essential work they do to help children and families across London. With so many parents having to make impossible choices, we believe it’s important to support organisations that are providing real, practical help within our communities.”

The donation reflects Taylor Wimpey’s ongoing commitment to supporting local charities and tackling issues that matter to the communities in which it builds.
