Grosvenor Casinos has today unveiled the £15 million refurbishment of its flagship West London venue, The Victoria – affectionately known as ‘The Vic’.
Recognised as one of the world’s most iconic casinos, Grosvenor Casinos – The Victoria on Edgware Road has been transformed into a premium gaming experience, reaffirming its place at the forefront of London’s gaming and entertainment scene.
Featuring contemporary upgrades to its two casino floors, gaming terrace and poker room, the casino’s relaunch represents the single biggest investment Grosvenor Casinos has ever made across its estate.
Grosvenor Casinos’ makeover of The Victoria comes as casinos prepare to take advantage of the legislative changes permitted by the Gambling Act Review. These reforms will enable the flagship casino to double its gaming machine allocation to 80 machines and introduce sports betting to customers for the first time.
Mark Harper, Managing Director at Grosvenor Casinos, said: “This £15 million renovation marks our boldest investment ever in a single site and is a statement of intent to modernise Grosvenor’s presence in London and across other casinos in England and Wales in line with the opportunities provided to us by the new legislation.
“To celebrate six decades of gaming history at The Victoria, we’ve transformed this iconic spot into a contemporary destination. This is about reimagining what a flagship venue can be and doubles down on our commitment to elevate the player and gaming experience while also embracing the legacy of one of the world’s most respected casinos in the UK.”
The Victoria has been a constant on the London gaming scene for six decades. Known for its unrivalled poker legacy, over the years it has welcomed both serious players and curious first timers. Hollywood A-Listers and celebrity sport stars have also walked through the doors to try their luck in what has become a cornerstone of the capital’s entertainment culture.
This major project has seen renovations in every corner of the venue, including:
A striking new façade and entrance which has modernised the building’s street presence
A redesigned first-floor layout that accommodates more slot machines, an extended external gaming terrace with a fully retractable roof, and an all-new outdoor bar concept
All customer-facing areas – including the main gaming floor, reception, restrooms, and the celebrated poker room – have been elevated with premium finishes, new lighting, advanced AV and media screens, and refined décor
The venue’s restaurant, which has undergone a complete redesign, enhancing its role as both a social hub and a key part of the gaming experience. The premium dining experience will feature a new menu of Middle Eastern and Arabic cuisine, exclusively curated by Grosvenor Casino’s Executive Chef
Behind the scenes, team facilities are being upgraded to match the ambition to deliver market-leading service
Grosvenor Casinos – The Victoria currently boasts one of the largest dedicated poker rooms in the UK, with 35 tables operating 24/7, and has long been a magnet for both local gaming enthusiasts and international visitors.
With enhanced facilities, a premium food and drink offering, and a renewed focus on design and service, Grosvenor Casinos aims to cement The Vic’s position not only as a London institution but as the blueprint for the next generation of gaming venues.
