A brand-new experience with a focus on competitive socialising will launch in Holborn, London on 4th October. The Escape Room Arcade consists of 30 distinct micro-challenges, which combine the immersive visuals of escape rooms with the replayability and variety of an arcade.

Founded by renowned escape room company, Enigma Quests, the Escape Room Arcade is set in a sinister underground laboratory. Each door will transport players to mysterious rooms from recognisable real-world places to fantastical realms. All will be set within a range of original environments including a speeding train, a spooky forest, a retro dance floor, a child’s bedroom, Area 51 and many more.

The venue, located on Fetter Ln, will be packed with stimulating mini-games that test physical and mental skills, creativity and teamwork. Participants will be able to play, and replay, as many games as they can within an hour. There will be leaderboards across each game letting people compete with their friends, family, colleagues or the public.

Nargiza, Co-Founder of the Enigma Quests said: “The Escape Room Arcade offers players the chance to break free from their daily routines and enter a world of fantasy and excitement. We’ve brought our love of escape rooms to the public and made it more accessible to the masses, with a diverse range of mini games, ensuring there’s something for everyone. We can’t wait for people to find out what’s going on behind each closed door!”

Games aside, the Escape Room Arcade comes equipped with a generous themed bar which will serve drinks including bespoke cocktails and bar snacks. For larger groups there will be the option to order food in from local eateries.

On entry, players will be given RFID wristbands which connect to the games allowing participants to keep track of each other’s scores using custom developed software. The games are designed for four players maximum, some of them can be enjoyed alone, and each one lasts around five minutes.

The venue is spread across two floors, the ground floor is 3000 sq. ft, leading to a lower ground floor area (11,000 sq. ft) containing the Escape Room Arcade. It will be open seven days a week, 11am – 9pm, Monday to Friday, 10am – 10pm Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost £25 per person for 60 minutes of play and will be suitable for 8-year-olds plus.

Enigma Quests, creator of the Escape Room Arcade, was one of the first escape rooms in the UK when it opened its first site in Shoreditch in 2015. Founders Nargiza Murodova and Dmitri Chihaiglo recognised the potential of such interactive games for families, friends and colleagues. Every room and game they build goes through an elaborate design and testing process to ensure it offers the perfect level of challenge for players.

Later this year, Enigma Quests will be launching new Escape Rooms in the same building as the Escape Room Arcade. More details for this will be released shortly.
