The UK premiere of THE KNITTING PILGRIM, as actor/knitter, Kirk Dunn brings his one-man show and awesome Interfaith Cathedral Sized Knitted Stained-Glass Windows to the UK – and JW3!
THE KNITTING PILGRIM is touring across the UK from 2 May, including at a couple of Cathedrals, and arrives in London at the JW3 on Thursday 15 May and Southwark Cathedral on the Friday 16 May.
Canadian Kirk Dunn‘s one-man show was 15-years in the making as his creative and spiritual marathon showed him commonalities and conflicts of the Abrahamic Faiths: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, culminating in the three huge, knitted panels, designed in the style of stained-glass windows. A sight and a show to behold and maybe knit the world together….
Canadian Kirk is a Presbyterian “preacher’s kid,” an actor and knitter. He learnt to knit on film sets and in many a dressing room and then went on to study with the legendary textile artist Kaffe Fassett. Who says of Kirk, “I applaud his moxie! The Knitting Pilgrim is astounding and to engage with it and Kirk’s amazing story”.
